"Miss Ella Lacey has also disappeared," Dilbert Walker added.
"Ella's missing too?"
Arthur Lindsey couldn't remain calm anymore. He stood up from his executive chair and said seriously, "I called her this morning, and she didn't pick up. Didn't you say her exam results were less than satisfactory? Maybe she's avoiding the issue. I didn't contact her after that. I've been dealing with a few important international documents all day."
After speaking, he directed Dilbert, "Let's go check the basement."
"Mr. Lindsey, that's exactly why I'm here."
Walking behind Arthur Lindsey, the two of them rode the elevator directly from the 88th floor down to the basement level 3. Then, getting off the elevator and going through a corridor, they went down a pedestrian staircase and were confronted with a dead end.
All around them were bare walls. Nothing else was there.
Arthur Lindsey walked over to a smooth stone wall and gently tapped it, creating a muffled "thump" sound.
