In two minutes, Arthur Lindsey was rushed into the Intensive Care Unit.
Alexander Stuart and the MIC medical doctors stayed in there all the while. Ella Lacey was anxiously sprawled in front of the exterior window, her ears perked up, glued to the window pane, straining to catch any hint of movement inside.
But, the sound insulation was excellent.
She couldn't hear anything.
This fear of the unknown, along with the terrifying image of Arthur being wheeled into the ICU, the blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, and his near-to-death asphyxiation, made her heart thump uncontrollably as though she was treading at the edge of a cliff - one more step, and she would crash and shatter into pieces.
"Miss Ella, try not to worry too much."
