"Alright, Mr. Lindsey." Louis Jefferson bore no grudges, said generously, "Tonight, Ella is at your disposal."
"Um."
Arthur Lindsey was about to step out when he suddenly paused, "By the way, why were you at the mountain so early today?"
He could choose not to ask this question as the answer could be easily found through investigation, but he wanted to hear Louis Jefferson's response.
Louis Jefferson adjusted his black glasses and said embarrassively with a smile, "The police notified me. They said that Ella asked me to accompany her..."
Such an unexpected answer.
So unexpected that Arthur Lindsey's heart nearly shattered...
If he had driven to the mountain straight after he landed from the plane that night, he would have been the first one to stay by her side.
Unfortunately, there were no ifs.

Back in Ella Lacey's room.
Arthur Lindsey stood by the bed, gazing blankly at her.
