The door to the "Operating Room" was pushed open, and Anna Ainsworth immediately approached, but she stumbled due to her haste and nearly fell right outside the door. Fortunately, Jeremy Thompson was beside her to catch her.
The chief doctor, upon witnessing this, removed his mask and smiled reassuringly at Anna, "Don't worry, the surgery was very successful. Your younger brother's leg is saved."
The surgery was very successful, and Chris's leg was saved! Anna was so overwhelmed with emotion that tears streamed down her face. She hadn't expected Jeremy's decision to help to be so utterly correct.
This must be what they call crying tears of joy. Anna, caught up in her excitement, remembered something after a moment, took a deep breath, turned her head, and looked at the man beside her, her voice choking as she said, "Thank you."
Jeremy Thompson glanced at her indifferently, said nothing, and showed no further emotion.
