Twenty minutes later, the Thompson family car arrived at the hospital doorway, just as there was a traffic jam at the hospital entrance, making it impossible for the vehicle to enter the courtyard immediately.
"I'll get out here and walk in," Anna said to the driver in front, then turned to Xaviar beside her and added, "Thank you, Xaviar, your teacher will go in first."
After she finished speaking, Anna immediately pushed open the car door and got out, walking slowly through the congested cars toward the pedestrian entrance.
No sooner had she entered the doorway than she heard a faintly familiar voice from behind her, "Anna, wait for me."
Almost instinctively, Anna turned around and sure enough saw Xaviar making his way through the cars, hurrying toward her. She got such a fright that she quickly turned back and ran to meet him.
Fortunately, the cars at the entrance were moving slowly because of the traffic jam, so Xaviar quickly caught up and crashed into Anna's arms.
