"Why aren't you asleep yet?" Joseph Thompson entered the room and saw Jaylene Ziel lost in thought on the sofa.
Seeing that she didn't respond, he came over and sat next to her, taking her hand and gently stroking it. He pressed his thin lips to her ear and whispered, "Were you waiting for me?"
Jaylene's face turned slightly red, and she gave him an annoyed glance. Was this man a little too narcissistic?
However, on second thought, she was indeed waiting for him.
After all, this wasn't her own home, and it wasn't the apartment she had been living in for a few days. This was Thompson Manor, and it was her first time in Joseph Thompson's room.
She always had a hard time adapting to unfamiliar environments, so when she first came upstairs, all she could do was sit on the sofa and wait for him to make a move.
"It's late, you should wash up and go to sleep," Joseph gently patted her shoulder. His mobile phone rang, so he took the call on the balcony.
