Ethan Thompson arrived back at Thompson Manor past 11 o'clock in the evening.
The entire courtyard was eerily quiet, with only the light from the courtyard entrance's street lamp casting a cold glow, as if waiting for his arrival.
After getting out of the car, he rubbed his forehead; he had spent too long tussling with Melody Duncan in the apartment earlier tonight and then took her out for dinner, which was why he returned home so late.
He had intended to sneak upstairs quietly, but just as he entered the doorway, he heard the sound of the first-floor bedroom door being pushed open; looking up, indeed, he saw Sophia Wilson walking out of the room.
"Why are you back so late?" Sophia's brow was deeply furrowed, clearly displeased with his late return.
