"Inferior people?" Jaylene looked at Phoebe Smith with a smile on her lips. "So Miss Smith, are you implying that you're superior?"
"At least I'm on a higher level than you?" Phoebe retorted with disdain.
Jaylene didn't want to argue with her and said indifferently, "Really? And what good is that? Even Emperor Han married a slave named Wei Zifu as his queen, while his own relative Chen Jiao only had to live in the Longmen Palace."
Jaylene paused and sneered, "If Joseph Thompson were Emperor Han, then I would be Wei Zifu, the lowly slave. And you?"
Phoebe was momentarily stunned and didn't know what to say. Jaylene didn't need her to reply and continued, "I'm sorry, Miss Smith, but I doubt you could even measure up to Chen Jiao."
After all, Chen Jiao had at least been married to Emperor Han, while Phoebe had apparently never even been engaged to Joseph, let alone married him.
