"Grandmother, I—"
"Phoebe, you're only getting more and more thoughtless as you grow up. Don't you know who Alexander Preston is? Now, not even Raine wants him, yet you still want to follow him. You actually went to his apartment last night... Are you deliberately trying to embarrass us?"
Every word from Sophia Wilson felt like a steel needle piercing Phoebe Smith's heart.
"I didn't, I really didn't think that much," Phoebe Smith vehemently defended herself.
"Didn't think much?" Sophia Wilson snorted coldly, "I think you have a lot of thoughts, and plenty of them."
"I heard you have a crush on the divorced man your cousin has discarded. If that's true, I'll break your legs!" With those stern and powerful words from Robert Smith, Phoebe Smith looked up and only then realized her grandfather had arrived.
Phoebe Smith was taken aback, her heart leaping to her throat as she stood there, pale-faced, holding onto the railing for support.
