After lunch, Joseph Thompson didn't immediately pay the bill and leave with Jaylene Ziel. Instead, he waved to the waiter to clean up the dining table and ordered two more lemonades.
He got up and sat down next to Jaylene, holding her hand. She leaned on his shoulder, and closed her eyes lightly. The two of them sat quietly together.
There weren't many people left in the café, and light music lingered in the air. Jaylene took a deep breath and realized that the simple life she wanted was just to enjoy quiet meals with him, have conversations, and grow old together.
"Joseph Thompson, today is Valentine's Day. Can't you finish writing the love letter for me today?" Jaylene opened her eyes and suddenly asked.
"You haven't given me the fountain pen yet. What am I supposed to write the love letter with?" He smiled, looking into her eyes filled with affection.
