As soon as Jaylene got in the car, she felt something was off with Joseph, as his face looked noticeably more gloomy than usual.
"Are you not feeling well?" Jaylene hurriedly asked with concern.
Somehow, she always felt that Joseph's gaze at her earlier was a bit too deep and lately, as she has been busy with work and dealing with family issues, she has naturally neglected Joseph a bit.
"I'm fine," Joseph answered in a low voice, then slowly started the car.
"Oh, as long as you're okay." Jaylene nodded her head. Joseph seemed strong as an ox, but when he got sick, he acted like a kitten.
The car became quiet for a moment. After working all day, Jaylene rubbed her temples and was just about to lean back in the seat to rest her eyes when her phone vibrated.
It was a text message alert. She instinctively pulled out her phone, and the number that popped up on the screen was one she had just saved at noon. The text read: "Jaylene, I'm sorry!"
