"Joseph Thompson, would you consider marrying Aurora Richardson?" Jaylene pleaded desperately.
"No," Joseph replied with a frosty look on his face.
"Why not?" Jaylene immediately retorted, and without waiting for Joseph's response, hurriedly added: "You and Aurora have been in love for so many years. She only broke up with you because she was set up by you once. I think you two getting married couldn't be more appropriate."
"Is it really that appropriate?" Joseph asked, furrowing his brow.
"Yes," Jaylene stated seriously. "You two are a stunningly handsome couple. You're a tall, rich, and handsome man, and she's as beautiful as a flower. You two make a beautiful couple; you two are the "love legend", simply a match made in heaven. Why wouldn't you be suitable for marriage?"
"Did Aurora tell you that if I marry her, your father would be safe?" Joseph's gaze landed on Jaylene's face.
"..." Jaylene stayed silent; she had not expected Joseph to guess the true reason so quickly.
