At 7 o'clock in the evening, Jaylene and Joseph Thompson still hadn't discussed whether or not to keep the child when the mobile phone rang. The call was from Randy Ziel.
Joseph Thompson suppressed the call before giving it to Jaylene. As soon as Jaylene put the phone to her ear, Randy Ziel's voice came over, "Jaylene, it's already past seven, why haven't you returned yet? Is there a traffic jam?"
"Dad, it's Saturday today, not a working day," Jaylene hastily pointed out to her father.
"Oh, right," Randy Ziel realized on the other end of the call, then continued, "But if you don't work, why aren't you home for the whole day? Where have you been? Are you coming back tonight?"
"I don't know about tonight," Jaylene hesitated before saying, "Dad, I'm in the hospital observation room, sick, I guess I won't be back tonight."
