"Hmph, I'll never acknowledge a disgraceful granddaughter like her," William Richardson snorted coldly, "I didn't go to her engagement, and when she marries Joshua Campbell, I won't..."
William's words were cut off as the door to the ward was pushed open from the outside. The father and son pair looked back, only to see the pale-faced and flustered Giana Watson walking in.
"Giana, weren't you attending Aurora's engagement party? Why did you come back so soon? Is the engagement banquet over?"
Frederick Richardson looked at his wife with a bit of surprise; her appearance was quite disheveled.
"The engagement banquet is over," Giana looked at Frederick lying on the hospital bed, her eyes dull and teary. As she opened her mouth, tears slid down.
"What happened?" Frederick was startled and hurriedly asked.
But Giana only cried, shaking her head without speaking, as if she was very uncomfortable and heartbroken.
