Joseph Thompson pushed the door to the observation room; Tyson Thornton was also leaving at that moment, causing them to bump into each other at the doorway. After a polite nod as a form of greeting, they went on their separate ways.
Inside the observation room, Giana Watson was telling Frederick Richardson about the impending transfer back to Hospital No.2. When she saw Joseph enter with a bouquet, she paused for a moment.
"Uncle Richardson, I'm glad to see you're awake. I hope you recover soon." Joseph's words were polite, but their earlier intimacy, as Aurora's fiance, was missing, casting a sense of distance.
"Thank you!" Frederick replied to Joseph equally formally and aloofly given the strained relationship between their families.
"I have some other things to take care of. Uncle Richardson, I won't accompany you on your way to Hospital No.2." Joseph traded a few more pleasantries before excusing himself.
