Jaylene nodded, and walked out of the kitchen area to the living room, where she found Maxwell flicking through channels on the remote controller, unable to find a suitable show.
"It's news time now, so there probably aren't any children's shows," Jaylene said with a smile. "Why don't we watch the news?"
"I don't want to watch the news at your house," Maxwell shook his head. "I'm tired of watching the news with my dad at home. I want to watch cartoons."
Jaylene laughed, but there were no cartoons to offer him. So she quickly proposed, "How about we play chess? Do you know how to play chess?"
"Yes, I do," Maxwell immediately perked up. "I've learned how to play chess at school. Do you have a chess set here, Jaylene?"
Jaylene listened to his address and hesitated for a moment before asking, "Why do you keep changing what you call me?"
