Seeing them approaching, Jaylene quickly slipped into the pottery store. Fortunately, they were so engrossed in their conversation, they did not notice her presence so close by.
"I thought you were going to wait outside. Why did you come in again?" Joseph looked at her, slightly puzzled.
"I saw Aurora," Jaylene confessed.
"So what if you saw her?" Joseph found her remark amusing. "Are you implying that you're afraid of her?"
Jaylene fell silent. She wasn't afraid of Aurora. She just didn't want to run into her face to face, and engage in a war of words with her.
"Let's go, I've already made the custom order," Joseph took her hand and headed towards the door. "What do you want to eat? There's a Century Center nearby with many restaurants."
"I want to eat..." Jaylene had just started speaking when her mobile phone rang.
"I need to take this call," Jaylene told Joseph before she took out her phone. It was a call from her cousin David Harrison.
