Aurora Richardson had just walked out of Starbucks when she received a phone call from her mother, Giana Watson.
"Mum, you want me to go to the Thompson Family for lunch?" Aurora's voice went up an octave: "I don't want to go."
"Aurora, there might be some misunderstanding in the matter, and besides, Old Madam Thompson personally called to invite us..." Giana persuasively explained over the phone.
"What misunderstanding? Can there be any falsification of what I personally experienced?" Aurora's tone was terrible: "Mom, just tell Old Madam Thompson I'm busy..."
"Your father also wants you to go visit them," Giana cut off Aurora's words from the other side of the phone: "Your dad is back from Washington, and he's home now. Should I have him speak to you?"
"Fine, I'll go to the Thompson Family," Aurora finally gave in, not daring to defy her father's words.
...
Half an hour later, Aurora's car arrived at the Thompson Manor in Pure Waterside.
