"She went shopping with a friend," Alexander Preston was obviously reluctant to mention his wife, looking at Jaylene and asking, "Can we... have a cup of coffee?"
"I'm not in the mood for coffee right now," Jaylene declined casually: "Director Preston, if you want to have coffee, there's a café across from here, you can go straight there."
"Jaylene, I have something to tell you," Alexander Preston hurriedly called out as she was about to turn and leave.
"I don't think we have much to talk about between us," Jaylene said coldly, staring at Alexander Preston: "Besides, you should be talking to your wife about whatever matters you have. Isn't that so?"
"Jaylene. Can I have just one hour of your time?"
Alexander Preston's face showed embarrassment, as he gestured to the café across the street: "Just an hour. I'll leave as soon as I've finished talking, really."
Jaylene shook her head firmly: "No, not even ten minutes!"
