Jaylene slept until the evening and what woke her up wasn't her alarm clock but her mobile phone's ringtone.
The mobile phone was new, bought just yesterday. The salesgirl in the store had set the ringtone and it turned out to be the currently popular "The Most Dazzling Folk Style".
"You are the most beautiful cloud in my sky, let me keep you with my heart..." The catchy song had to play for a while before Jaylene stirred awake from her dream.
She groggily opened her eyes, groped for her mobile phone on the bedside table, and without even checking the caller ID, she picked up and held the phone to her ear.
"Hello," she sleepily answered, yawning loudly. It was clear she was still half asleep.
"Jaylene, you are neither at home nor at the hospital. Where are you now?" Joseph Thompson's voice was tinged with a hint of displeasure.
Good grief, he had left last night and only remembered her now, he definitely had a reason to be displeased.
