"We're going to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get married, huh?"
"I have to work tomorrow," Jaylene hurriedly said: "I don't want to take leave on my first day at work, so why don't we go get our marriage license this afternoon, it's only four o'clock now, if we hurry, we might still make it."
"This is our first marriage, people say it's auspicious to get a marriage license in the morning," Joseph Thompson laughed over the phone: "Who gets a marriage license in the afternoon? I heard that's when people get divorced."
"..."
Okay, Jaylene had not given much thought to the matter of obtaining a marriage license before, so she didn't understand these things.
"How about the day after tomorrow?" Jaylene suggested cautiously: "I'll work for a day tomorrow, and it'll probably be more convenient to take leave the day after."
"The Civil Affairs Bureau is closed on Saturday the day after tomorrow," Joseph Thompson's casual voice came from the phone: "I suppose your company is off too?"
