"Overseas returnees are real gentlemen," Jaylene commented, looking back at Joseph as he closed the car door for her.
Blushing at his wife's praise, Joseph teased, "How can I not be a gentleman to my own wife?"
"But you were even more of a gentleman yesterday," said Jaylene, looking at Joseph coming to the driver's seat with an indifferent tone. "Your gentlemanly behavior yesterday perfectly showed love and indifference, and I was utterly impressed."
Joseph's face immediately darkened, not picking up the conversation, and stepped on the accelerator; the car shot out like an arrow.
Startled, Jaylene quickly reached for her seat belt – her life was more important, especially now that she was getting older.
Joseph had been somewhat on edge ever since Aurora returned. Jaylene didn't dare risk her life by playing the thrilling car-racing game with him during his occasional outbursts.
