By the time Jaylene arrived at the New City Plaza, Alisha was already there waiting for her.
Alisha was obviously dressed to the nines, all her eyelashes curled upward, sunscreen, concealer, powder and everything slapped on, lipstick swabbed on her lips, and she was wearing a new loose cotton dress.
On the other hand, Jaylene was much simpler. She swapped for a casual light blue T-shirt with white trim, beige capri pants, and put on a pair of flat canvas shoes. She just washed her face and didn't even bother with sunscreen or lipstick.
As soon as Alisha saw her, she waved the movie tickets in her hand at her. "Jaylene, over here, come on, the movie's about to start."
Looking at the paired-up crowd at the entrance of the cinema, Jaylene frowned, "Are we really going to watch a movie?"
"The tickets are already bought, wouldn't it be a waste not to watch?" Alisha rolled her eyes at her. "Besides, the movie is about to start in three minutes, they wouldn't refund our tickets now."
