"Miss Richardson, do you want to marry my Second Uncle as soon as possible?" Raine Thompson asked while washing her hands and looking at Aurora Richardson in the mirror.
Aurora sneered through her nostrils. She usually didn't bother to respond to nonsense, especially when it came from women like Raine, who married good-looking younger men. She couldn't stand them.
Although Raine was a rich heiress and quite delicate-looking, she still fell short of the grace and virtue that Aurora held in high regard. Raine simply couldn't compare to Aurora's own circle of friends.
For the first time, Raine managed to restrain herself and did not take offense at Aurora's attitude. Taking Aurora's sneer as an affirmation, she continued, "Actually, we are comrades in the same battle."
