Just as Jaylene hit answer, Alisha's alarmed voice came through the phone, "Hey, Jaylene, what's the matter? I've called you several times and you're not answering?"
"I had my phone on silent last night, didn't hear you." Jaylene responded gloomily.
"What for? You don't have to mute your phone!" Alisha started complaining on the other side of the line, "Please tell me you're not planning to shut yourself away from the world?"
"Stop it! Who's shutting out the world?" Jaylene snapped back at her, "I'm neither that fragile, don't worry. I'm strong."
"Good, I was worried that you wouldn't bear the pressure." Alisha said on the phone, "By the way, didn't we agree last night to go shopping today? I'm about to leave, what about you? Are you heading out?"
"No," Jaylene answered honestly, "Sorry, Alisha, I can't go shopping with you today."
"What's wrong?" Alisha instantly detected something off in Jaylene's voice and pressed for details, "Did something happen?"
