"Then I'll come and see you later," he reluctantly agreed, then whispered to comfort her: "If your finger is hurt, don't play the piano anymore. Is it severe? Did you put a band-aid on?"
"Yes, I've put one on, but.. the band-aid has turned red.." Aurora was still sobbing on the other end of the phone.
"I see, I'll be there soon.." After comforting Aurora some more, he hung up the phone.
Glancing at the empty driving seat, and looking at the woman several meters away outside the window, he finally moved to the driving seat, started the car, and slowly drove towards the woman a few meters ahead.
On the way back, no one said a word. Joseph was tired of talking, and Jaylene was even more tired of talking; only Joseph drove straight home.
As the car pulled into the parking space, Joseph had just taken the car key out when Jaylene snatched it and pushed open the car door to get out, not waiting for Joseph at all.
