Charlotte Green glanced at Kevin Cliff, thinking he would be angry, but he just gave a faint smile without showing any displeasure.
She really couldn't understand him. With his temperament and his aloofness, there was no need for him to insist on having dinner with them, to put up with such treatment.
"How about I have Wester Welson drive you around to take a look?"
Charlotte did not expect such a suggestion, and her response was somewhat intense, "There's no need, you are not obligated to do this!"
The already tense atmosphere instantly turned icy.
Even Mrs. Turner, who had been making sarcastic remarks throughout the dinner, was surprised by Charlotte's strong reaction. She looked at a somewhat frightened Xavier, put down her chopsticks, tugged at Mr. Turner, and then went over to pull Xavier away, "Grandma will take you to wash your hands, okay?"
Xavier looked at the two adults who seemed to be arguing and obediently nodded his head, following Grandma and Grandpa away.
