Gavin Turner looked at the tightly closed door, then back at him, "If you have even the slightest bit of guilt towards her, please don't bother her anymore!"
Kevin Cliff didn't speak, or perhaps he disdained to, his gaze fixed on the shut door, still a glimmer of hope in his heart.
Gavin stepped past him and knocked on the door.
Soon, Charlotte Green's voice came from inside.
"I said I didn't want to see you again! Nor do I want to hear your voice!"
"Charlotte, it's me." Gavin approached the peephole and whispered.
Inside, Charlotte immediately, without a second thought, flung the door open upon hearing Gavin's voice, saw Kevin still outside, didn't glance at him, pulled Gavin in, and closed the door again.
Kevin Cliff watched with his own eyes as she welcomed another man into her house, a fury rising in him that he couldn't control, tightening his already clenched fists, causing the scabbed-over wound to tear open again.
