"…I didn't hang up," came a low voice after a pause on the other end.
Charlotte Green felt relieved, bit her lip, and mustered up the courage to ask, "When will you have time to bring my child to me tomorrow?"
"…" Silence fell on the other side of the line.
"I know you probably find me annoying, but I really want to see my son, so badly, so badly…" As she spoke, her voice began to choke up, "So, could you please give me a specific time, or let me pick him up? I promise I won't let Abigail see me, is that okay?"
Her tone was as lowly as dust, purely to have her child back by her side, begging just to bring her child back home.
"…I will give you an answer, but not now!" Kevin Cliff hardened his heart and hung up the phone.
Charlotte Green stared at the disconnected number on the screen, tears sliding down her cheeks, in the quiet night it seemed like she could hear the sound of her tears hitting the ground.
He was indeed annoyed by her questions.
