Charlotte chose to turn her face away and ignore his warning.
Kevin Cliff was so angry he raised his hand to rub his forehead, about to take some action, when suddenly his phone rang in his pocket. He picked it up and upon seeing the caller ID, his expression instantly softened.
"Little Abigail... what? Okay, I'll be right back! Don't be scared..."
As Kevin talked on the phone, he quickly made his way around to the driver's side and opened the door, while Charlotte could tell that something serious had happened, and her heart involuntarily tightened, her feet involuntarily following him.
After hanging up, Kevin caught her look of deep concern, "Abigail's had a bit of an accident, I need to rush back immediately, get in the car! Even if you're not worried about Little Abigail, I'll have Sophia take you back once we get to Star Garden."
Charlotte stopped in her tracks, quickly masking all the worry on her face.
