It wasn't until the fifth day that Charlotte Green applied for discharge, and Gavin Turner came to the hospital early in the morning to pick her up. As she came out dressed, she saw the man who had already packed for her and gave a faint smile, acknowledging that a simple 'thank you' was no longer enough.
"All set? Then let's go back," Gavin said as he picked up the luggage and came to support her.
The two of them exited the ward together, only to encounter Abigail Summer, who had just left another ward alone in the corridor.
Even though Abigail was dressed in a hospital gown, on closer inspection, one could tell that she was pregnant.
Their gazes met across the distance, one guilty and the other cold.
"Charlotte, let's go," Gavin urged gently, afraid that she would be affected by Abigail.
However, Charlotte stopped, "No! I need to talk to her."
