Gently closing the door, she couldn't shut out everything that had happened in Star Garden.
Outside, Sophia Young saw her carrying her suitcase out, wanting to step forward to help but was refused.
"No need. If I can't even carry my own luggage, how am I supposed to live on, right?"
Sophia's hand hovered in mid-air, it took her a long time to snap back to reality and follow.
Watching the woman dragging the suitcase in front of her, who clearly wasn't that strong, yet she carried herself with a back straighter than anyone else's.
Was she wrong? Did she misjudge her?
Was she actually not as fragile as they'd perceived her to be?
The corridor was so short, so short that before Sophia could figure out what to say to the woman in front, they had already reached the end.
Watching her lift the suitcase and descend the stairs, Sophia held back the impulse to rush forward and help, knowing she would inevitably be rejected if she did.
