Kevin Cliff swept him a disdainful glance and flung him away even more ruthlessly by the collar, reaching out to grab the woman on the bed. However, as his gaze landed on the thick white quilt covering her, he felt his blood roar for a moment, madly wanting to do something.
He stared at her coldly, his outstretched hand stopping mid-air, slowly curling into a fist. His knuckles cracked menacingly as he clenched them, a sound that was frightening to hear.
"Charlotte Green, I truly underestimated your skills!"
"It's not... like that... it's not..." Charlotte Green lifted her tear-stained face, murmuring and shaking her head.
"Don't!" Gavin Turner suddenly dashed over at top speed, shielding Charlotte in front of him.
With a bang, the fist that was thought to fall on Charlotte instead turned and smashed viciously onto a bedside lamp.
