"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have..."
"Has anyone ever told you that you have a beautiful smile?"
Charlotte had thought his mouth was quirking to mock her smile, instinctively apologizing, but never expected him to say something so surprisingly pleasant.
She wondered if she was still dreaming? How could he possibly compliment her?
"Watching the sunrise and sunset like this isn't bad, let's do it like this from now on," Kevin Cliff said regretfully as he glanced at the sun on the horizon, wrapping his arm around her, implying something more with his words.
From now on, like this? What did he mean by that? Was it a spur-of-the-moment idea? Or did he really want to watch the sunrise and sunset with her?
She had once daydreamed about watching the sunrise and sunset with him in the future, so why was he now casually stepping into the dreams she had had?
Please, she begged silently, don't create any more openings for expectation; she was scared, truly scared.
