"He got injured because of me, who would care for him if not me... Wait! What did you just say?" Charlotte Green caught the implication in his words a half-beat too slow, "Senior... he's alright?"
"..." Sharp, cold eyes just looked at her, without speaking.
"Senior is fine, right? Isn't he?" Charlotte asked with a smile in her eyes, very certain.
"Can you say someone is fine when they're in the hospital?" Kevin Cliff answered her irritably.
Charlotte let out a sigh of relief and, amidst her happiness, didn't forget his deception. With a small fist, she lightly punched his shoulder, her voice carrying a petulant charm, "You lied!"
Kevin's eyes darkened, he grabbed her hands, pulled her closer, and looked down at her intently.
The change in his dark pupils made Charlotte's face burn hot.
She diverted her gaze, squirming slightly with a flushed face, "Let go of me, my hair is still wet."
"It's okay, it will dry soon anyway," he said, his lips curling slightly.
