"Ding-a-ling..."
The ring of the cell phone interrupted Lucy Peak's frantic behavior. She momentarily stopped, fished out her phone from her bag, saw the incoming call display, hesitated for a moment, but still answered.
"Lucy, where are you? Daddy's waiting at home for you to come back for dinner," Lucas Peak maintained a normal speaking pace under Kevin Cliff's terrifying glare.
The moment the call connected, Kevin signaled his men with his eyes to track the phone signal.
"Daddy, I... I'm still out. Don't wait for me, just leave it at that," Lucy said with a guilty conscience and then abruptly hung up.
"Lucy... Lucy..." Lucas called out in panic.
Kevin stepped forward, snatched the phone away, and saw that the call had already been disconnected.
"Does your daughter usually have any extreme behavior?" he asked Lucas, his eyes sharp and demanding.
