Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 My Name is Kevin Cliff

The man narrowed his eyes slightly and looked down at his new bride.

Charlotte Green shook more violently, her father anxiously signaling to her from the side, but she chose to ignore him, looked up in fear at the man a head taller than she, and, as if gathering all the courage she had in this life, she managed to say, "I… I'm supposed to marry the Young Master of the Cliff Family, and you… are not him."

"So, you don't even know who you're marrying…" He reached out and lifted her face that had dropped after she spoke, and said coldly, revealing his own identity, "My name is Kevin Cliff, cousin of the three Cliff brothers! Remember this name because it's going to be a brand you cannot shake off for the rest of your life!"

Charlotte Green stepped back in fright, the possessiveness she felt was terrifying, like an ominous prophecy.

Her heart sank to the bottom of the lake, and she could only be manipulated like a puppet.

The wedding march started up again, and the groom, with his left hand linked with his bride trembling like a scared bird and his right hand holding the death photo of a little girl, stepped onto the red carpet with poise and composure.

The wedding ended in a daze.

The sea breeze, the beach, and the waves made for a noisy and uniquely styled wedding banquet.

They did not participate, and after the ceremony was over, he left her with the best man and indifferently turned and walked away; meanwhile, she was driven 'home' by the best man.

This 'home' was bigger than the Green Family's connected villas. It dominated the entirety of Fragrance Hill, with the grand architectural estate situated at the highest vantage point of the entire hill, surrounded by large trees up close and the blue sea and sky in the distance.

From the moment they entered the mountain road leading to the villa, they were under surveillance by monitoring devices, and the security was very strict.

Charlotte Green in the back seat had changed into a tender-red irregular hem chiffon skirt, and as she watched the passing streetlights from the car window, the twisting of her fingers on her knees highlighted her confusion and unease.

The vehicle entered through the carved iron gate and stopped in front of the large French court-style building.

Then, the car door was pulled open from the outside, and Charlotte Green adjusted her skirt before gracefully stepping out of the car.

First off, she met the gaze of a woman, about forty, with an expressionless face.

Charlotte Green, well-mannered, nodded politely to the woman.

"Miss Green, I am the housekeeper of Star Garden. You can call me Sister Liu. From now on, this will be where you stay, and now I will take you for a tour of the manor," said Sister Liu formally, then took the lead to show the way.

Charlotte Green was still stunned in her place because of her address.

Why is it Miss Green? And not Madam or… something like Young Madam?

"The gentleman has not announced to us that he is married, so we can only address you this way," Sister Liu stopped and said coldly.

So it meant that the man hadn't announced his marriage to the people here, and they wouldn't regard her as his wife. What status would she have here then, and would she even have a place to stand?

A faint bitterness washed through her heart. She was not good at conversing, merely cracked a smile, and followed with her head down.

Although it was night, the manor had lights set up everywhere, and nothing prevented Charlotte Green from learning the lay of the land.

No wonder Sister Liu referred to it as a manor; indeed, it was one, with not only the main building but also an additional reception area, 3 guest villas, a private 9-hole golf course, and 11 artificial lakes. Behind the main building were a flower room, a lawn, and swing sets.

Particularly, the largest artificial lake had a suspension bridge above it, and the stars attached to the bridge glistened in both sunlight and night light, reflecting in the water day and night.

Everything in the manor seemed to be designed for a girl, just like the name Star Garden.

Was it for that girl? The girl in the death photo.

Who exactly had she married?
