Charlotte methodically sliced the steak on her plate, feigning deafness to the conversation around her. As everyone seemed inclined to favor Giselle, she suddenly looked up with a dawning realization and said, "Oh, did I forget to mention that my office is equipped with surveillance cameras?"
Giselle turned pale upon hearing this and looked at Charlotte with panic before quickly changing her tune, "It was also my carelessness. You know I've never worked before, and it's natural to be unsteady with folders. It's just your bad luck to have been hit."
"So I didn't say anything wrong, did I?" Charlotte stopped cutting her steak and looked up once more, first glancing at her father before adding, "It's just that you're not suited to work in my office. I'm afraid it could be deadly!"
Under the table, Giselle tugged at her mother for help and reluctantly gazed at the man opposite, who was silently and stoically eating his meal.
