Kevin Cliff had no choice but to secure Chris in a child safety seat, gave her a worried glance, and started driving again.
He wanted to get to their destination quickly, to relieve her discomfort, but he was concerned that driving too fast might make her feel worse.
"Kevin Cliff, can you drive faster?" Charlotte Green, who had been lying down, couldn't help but speak out, impatient with the snail's pace of their journey.

Chris had also fallen asleep at the steady speed, and Kevin Cliff, watching the woman through the rearview mirror who had been lying down without lifting her head the entire time, sped up.
Kevin Cliff drove them straight back to the estate, and the car entered the parking lot. Wester Welson, who had been notified, was already there waiting, along with Chris's housekeeper.
