Chapter 37 - Greenish hue pool

Elrian, with his thirst for knowledge growing, questioned further. "Mother, Father, how do you sense your Qi pool? What does it feel like? What does it look like?"

Lyssandra closed her eyes for a moment, concentrating inwardly, before opening them to share, "When I sense my Qi pool, it feels like a gentle pulse, a rhythm deep within. Visually, it's akin to a small, shimmering pond in the depths of my being. If I had to put dimensions to it, I'd say it's about 5cm in diameter and 2cm in depth."

Arlan nodded in agreement, "Yes, Lyssandra's description is spot on. My pool feels and looks similar, perhaps a tad smaller in size. We've only recently advanced to the first stage, so it's still fairly small. I'd estimate mine to be about 4.5cm in diameter and 1.8cm deep."

Elrian looked at them with a mix of awe and curiosity, "That's fascinating. But, if it's so small, how do you cultivate more Qi?"

Arlan replied, "While the size might seem insignificant, the pools's depth and expanse determine the amount and quality of Qi it can hold. Even with our limited size, it's a leap from when we were mortals. However, as we've mentioned before, we don't have proper techniques at our disposal, nor have we dedicated our entire lives to cultivation, which explains our current size."

Lyssandra added, "In the world of cultivation, potential matters, but what one does with that potential is equally important. We may not have a vast pool or the best techniques, but we've found happiness in our journey. And now, it's your turn to embark on your path and discover what your pool holds for you."

As they continued their discussion on Qi pool, Arlan cleared his throat and said, "Alright, Elrian, it's time for you to sense your own Qi pool. Remember, stay calm and focus inwardly. Close your eyes and picture a serene pond within you. Slowly, you'll start to feel a pulsation, that's your Qi."

Elrian nodded attentively, closed his eyes, and started to concentrate. Minutes passed in silence, broken only by the gentle rustling of leaves outside their home. It wasn't an easy task for him; after all, he was just a beginner in this vast world of cultivation.

Finally, after what felt like hours, Elrian's face lit up, and he opened his eyes, excitement evident. "I felt it! I sensed my Qi pool!" he exclaimed.

Lyssandra smiled warmly, "That's great! Can you describe it?"

Elrian paused, recalling the image, "It's like a circular pool, about 5cm in diameter and equally deep. But what's strange is... it's not purely white like you mentioned. There's a faint greenish hue to it."

Both Arlan and Lyssandra exchanged shocked glances. Arlan, taking a moment to find his words, said, "That's truly remarkable, Elrian. Our Qi pools, when we first sensed them, were purely white, indicating pure Qi. The greenish hue in your pool might suggest the presence of wind Qi."

Lyssandra added, "Considering the wind phenomenon you exhibited when you broke through, it's plausible that some essence of the wind Qi integrated with your own, giving it that distinct color."

Elrian looked between his parents, trying to process the information. "Is that... a good thing?" he hesitantly asked.

Arlan chuckled, "Oh, it's more than good. It indicates that you have a unique affinity with the wind element. Remember the legend we told you about? It might be that you're on the path to becoming something truly extraordinary."

Lyssandra placed a gentle hand on Elrian's shoulder, "Your pool is already bigger than ours was at the start, and you haven't even begun to fully cultivate. This might be due to your prodigious talent, the age at which you started cultivating, or the unique way you broke through. Regardless, it's a promising sign."

Elrian's heart swelled with pride and excitement, but he also felt the weight of responsibility. He had a unique gift, and he knew he couldn't squander it. "I'll do my best to live up to the potential," he whispered, determination shining in his eyes.

Lyssandra's voice cut through the excited atmosphere, bringing a sudden seriousness to the room. "Elrian," she began with a stern tone, "while it's commendable that you've reached the Qi Sensor stage and even faced a wolf in combat, you have a long way to go. Your fundamental swordsmanship is lacking."

Elrian, taken aback by his mother's sudden change in demeanor, lowered his gaze. He had hoped the achievements of the day would earn him a little respite, but it seemed that wasn't to be the case.

She continued, "All the Qi in the world won't help you if you don't have a strong foundation to build upon. You might have unique talents, but without the basics, you'll never reach your true potential. Starting now, I want you to practice your sword techniques, without using any Qi or wind element."

Arlan nodded in agreement, "Your mother is right, Elrian. Qi is like a sharp blade; without proper control and technique, you're more likely to hurt yourself than your enemy."

Elrian sighed, realizing that despite his achievements, he was still at the beginning of a long journey. "Alright, I understand," he replied, determination once again burning in his eyes. "I'll start practicing immediately."

Lyssandra softened slightly, reaching out to caress Elrian's cheek. "It's for your own good. We just want you to be the best you can be. Remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. And that step, for you, is mastering the basics."

Elrian nodded, his spirit renewed. While the path ahead was long and undoubtedly filled with challenges, he was ready to face them head-on, starting with perfecting his foundational skills.
