"Lyssandra, Arlan," he began, his voice steady, "I understand the depth of your concerns. Sending one's own flesh and blood into the wider world, especially a world as vast and unpredictable as that of cultivation, is no small decision. However, I want to offer you both some solace."
Alden paused, choosing his words carefully. "Firstly, our village is bound by the presence of Seraphine and her search. Given her reputation and the information she seeks, it is only prudent for us to handle the situation delicately. Until she concludes her investigation and returns to her village, it would be wise for Elrian and me to stay put. This gives us ample time to prepare and make arrangements for our eventual journey to Windblade."
His words brought a measure of relief to Lyssandra and Arlan. The thought of a bit more time with Elrian was comforting. However, Alden wasn't done.
