Chereads / Uchiha With the Nine Tails / Chapter 4 - Last Hurrah

Chapter 4 - Last Hurrah

In a spacious chamber, at one side a boy was standing and at the other side, a masked old man was casually approaching the training field.

Unlike Enkai who was completely on guard, Hanzo had a relaxed posture as he stood in front of the little menace.

Then he took his mask off.

Not many people know this but Hanzo wears his mask because he had poison glands transplanted inside of him. These poison glands produce poison so potent that even his breath can kill people so to save his allies from imminent death he usually wears a mask.

However, when it comes to fighting this guy he can rest easy as this guy has also transplanted poison glands inside of him. Though his poison isn't potent enough to turn his breath into poison, his blood is still extremely poisonous and he is also the only person in Amegakure who can withstand Hanzo's breath.

"Ready?" Asked Enkai, as he placed one hand on the hilt of his sword.

"I was ready before you were born." Hanzo waved his hand signalling Enkai to come at him.

Enkai rolled his eyes once, before disappearing and appearing on top of Hanzo's head with his sword drawn out.

Swoosh!

Enkai slashed at Hanzo's head intending to cut his head in half, but before the sword could hit Hanzo flickered away.

Hanzo was about to throw a kunai the moment he flickered away from where Enkai stood, but when he saw Enkai blurring as well and he knew he had to dodge. Immediately ducking down, he saw a sword fly by from where his torso was.

"You've gotten better," Hanzo remarked,

"You've gotten slower." Enkai's voice echoed through the training hall.

"Damn, Brat.." Hanzo cursed with twitching eyes, then he did some hand signs and said, "Water Style, Mist field." As soon as he said that he started spitting out massive amounts of fog and soon the entire training room was filled with fog.

In the mist, he saw a large amount of mist cleared away and the moment it did Hanzo stretched his hand to the side, and the next moment, a face appeared there plastered on his fist.

Thud!

Enkai's body rolled around the ground for a bit before he started floating and stood up again. This time he had two small knives in his hands.

Hanzo didn't let this chance escape though as he immediately rushed at Enkai. Enkai, who still hadn't recovered his stance yet, felt his body instinctively move to the left, and then saw how multiple kunais passed through there.

Suddenly, Enkai felt a chill crawl down his spine as he looked at his back and saw Hanzo with a chained scythe that was already stretched out.

Sensing the dread, white mist started concentrating under Enkai's feet and with explosive speed Enkai blurred. Instantly moving twenty metres away from where Hanzo stood.

He was once again saved by his Blank Techniques that he has spent the past five years perfecting.

A few months after joining the Ame Shinobis the first thing he did was find out his chakra nature. When he found out that he had a wind chakra nature he immediately started practising rasenshuriken.

Maybe it's because of Sasuke's genius or maybe it's because kids absorb knowledge like a sponge. He managed to learn that technique in a few months. And after learning Rasenshuriken Enkai had a realisation.

Ninjutsu isn't reliable, and jutsus that don't need hand signs are incredibly strong.

In the whole Naruto series, he has only seen four kinds of people use jutsus that don't use hand signs. Those people are the Rasengan users, the Chidori users, the sole paper user, and the Lightning Armour users who are the third and fourth raikage.

He knew that the third and fourth raikage's technique was strong; that's why they never used any other jutsu but when he mastered Rasengan he realised that just about every jutsu that doesn't need a hand sign is strong for many reasons.

Following that lesson, he created his own set of techniques that only use wind nature as its base. He calls them the 'Blank Techniques'.

So far he has created about thirty different kinds of blank techniques. This wouldn't have been possible for any other person but he managed to do it because he took inspiration from other fiction that he had read.

So not much thought was put into the theory, the only real training he had to do was controlling his chakra and concentrating his chakra nature, and he got better at those the more he practised.

One example of the Blank technique was ESP or Extrasensory Perception. This is just him constantly sensing the air around him to see any change in the air, when something does move he will know about it.

It's thanks to this technique that even in the middle of all the fog he can clearly sense Hanzo summoning his giant salamander which is spreading poison mist while he is currently flanking him from the right.

Another Blank Technique is ShP or Shotgun Punch, Enkai curled up his fist and the nearby mist started gathering around his forearm then it concentrated and started rotating. After two seconds, he punched the poison-mixed mist in front of him and the mist that had gathered around his forearm blew away the mist in front of him, revealing the huge salamander.

He looked at the huge salamander and smirked, causing the salamander to hiss at him. He was about to throw a huge shuriken at him but then his body automatically moved to the side.

Unexpectedly Hanzo attacked him this time, he expected Hanzo to come close to him and then attack him but when Hanzo heard the salamander's hiss he decided to throw his chained scythe at him from a distance.

If it was any other ninja they would have died from that lethal attack that Hanzo just did but Enkai managed to dodge it yet again thanks to another one of his Blank Technique.

This technique was called ER or External Reflex. This technique is the second technique that Enkai keeps active along with ESP. This technique uses the Input he receives from ESP to sense danger and move his body accordingly by controlling the wind around his body.

Then he concentrated air under his feet and bent his knees. This was yet another one of his techniques and he calls this one "Blink."

Whoosh!

In a matter of milliseconds, Enkai slashed at Hanzo but thanks to his experience he managed to activate his substitution jutsu.

Hanzo and Enkai stood in front of each other yet again, except this time Hanzo had his scythe out and so did Enkai who also took out his chained scythe.

Compared to Hanzo however Enkai was much more tired, he was breathing heavily and he wore a dishevelled expression.

"Tired already? The night is still young." Hanzo smirked when he looked at the panting Enkai.

"Eww, don't say that to a kid." To which Enkai just showed a very disgusted face.

"W-wait," Hanzo suddenly realised the grave mistake he made, not noticing it was a trick of Enkai.

Poof!

Suddenly, a burst of smoke covered Enkai's body and then Enkai rushed towards him, his eyes shining in an orange hue for a moment before it stopped. But in that moment, all of Enkai's stamina was recovered.

Clank!

They clashed their scythes again,

...

Half an hour was left till midnight, in a training hall of Amegakure probably the longest battle to happen in Amegakure ever was about to end.

Right now, Enkai was lying on the ground with the tip of a scythe inches away from his throat. His entire body has cuts all over it. His forehead, limbs and torso were riddled with cuts and injuries.

The one who was holding the scythe, Hanzo, was in a much better condition than Enkai. Although his entire body had many cuts they were swallow cuts and weren't lethal. Hanzo was panting, his shinobi armour was in shambles and his summon had been unsummoned because of how much damage it had absorbed throughout the battle.

"Haah, Haah...You Win." Enkai said, his sweat that was mixing in his wounds was stinging.

"Heal or you will die soon," Hanzo said and withdrew his weapon.

Then Enkai pulled himself up in a lotus position and started concentrating, soon Orange chakra covered his body as a single tail manifested around his hip.

As soon as that was done, he started meditating and in a matter of minutes, all of his fatal injuries started healing. His body, which had multiple puncture wounds and some very lethal cuts, started closing up.

About half an hour later his body was completely healed up. Then Enkai stood up and sighed. It looks like at thirty percent of his power he has no way of defeating Hanzo. Over the years he has fought Hanzo many times, At first he had to use everything he had to fight him but as he refined his pre-existing techniques and created new techniques the gap between them started decreasing.

Alas, it appears that thirty per cent is his limit. He can't use any less power to win against the old man.

The training hall didn't have any windows so he didn't know how much time he spent sparring with Hanzo but it must have been a long time so he hurried his way out of the training hall, took out another set of his clothes and weapons which looked exactly like his previous one and went on his way towards a secret exit of Amegakure.

When he was in front of the entrance he saw a silhouette of a man standing there. Did the Akatsuki catch wind of this location? How? He activated his Sharingan and approached the person.

When he was close enough to see who it was his eyes widened. It was Hanzo, he had a couple of bandages here and there but overall he looked fine.

But Enkai knew better, the last fight was definitely taxing for the old man, he should be resting. Enkai approached him, repeatedly checking to see if this was a trap or not or if this person was an imposter using transformation jutsu.

But when he found nothing he asked, "You should be resting."

"I know. I am just here to see you off." Hanzo smiled, to which Enkai gave a silent nod.

Then none of them spoke up, and Enkai quietly walked past Hanzo and started leaving the village hidden by the rain.

Hanzo looked at the fading back of the little soldier with sadness in his eyes.

Just when Enkai's silhouette was about to completely disappear, however, Hanzo saw him stop. Then Enkai turned around towards his direction and disappeared.

!?

Hanzo's eyes widened as he thought what could it be, his eyes slowly looked down as he felt a tight pressure in his belly.

However, all his worries faded away when he saw the little guy hugging him.

Then Hanzo felt his surroundings quiet down as he heard the faintest whisper that left Enkai's mouth.

"Goodbye, Father."

The next moment, as if it was an illusion, Enkai disappeared. Leaving behind a quivering, sniffling old man, who just fell on his knees, screamed and cried for the first time in his life.

He truly will miss the old man.
