How much time had passed. Minutes? Hours? Days? Or maybe not even a second had passed. All the girl did was stand and it was enough to mess with the demons perception of time. The contra flowing out of the girl was much more dense than before. With each flap of her dark flaming wings, the temperature inside of the cave fell even further. All of the demons other functions had also seemed to go numb. It couldn't move any part of its body and its vision narrowed, focusing on the darkness emanating off the girl. It could sense many different emotions inside of the girl. But the two most prominent emotions of the girl were almost conflicting ones, but can be said to be two sides of the same coin. Hate and grief. The first one was completely normal. The demon had caused severe harm her friend and had completely shattered the girls idea of herself. It would have been strange for her not to feel hatred. But the second left the demon perplexed.
"What would she be grieving for? I can't sense her, but the other girl should still be alive. Even with a couple limbs missing, for someone who can control anima, they should be able to survive for at least an hour. And even if she died, she wouldn't know. Wait, non of that matters right now. I need to focus on executing my plan. Otherwise, I'll really die."
It tried to start moving so it to get outside of the girls range but all it could muster was a tremble.
"Fuck! I need to move. But if I do, it'll draw attention to myself then I will definitely be killed. What do I do?"
The demon was so lost in its own thoughts that it hadn't even noticed the girl now leering its way.
"You," she said, her voice laced emotion.
The demon finally looked up at the girl seeing the clear tears run down one cheek, and blood running down the other. A shiver ran up its spine when it looked into her deep crimson eye. The crescent shape in the eye of the girl reflected the image of the the image of the demon. A strange look of fear across its face. And before it could even react, a dark image cleanly separated its head from its shoulders. The demon fell backward, grabbing its neck on reflex.
"What the hell was that?"
Before it could even comprehend what it had saw, it looked back into the girls eye and immediately saw black flames spawning inside its body. The first things to melt were its eyes. Then its whole body suddenly was engulfed in flames.
Many more images of the demon violently being killed imprinted themselves on the demons mind. It simply sat on the ground unable to comprehend how many gruesome endings it was being shown. It remained in a daze, tears beginning to well in its eyes, when the girl took a step. A single step. That's all it took and she had torn away multiple fragments of the demons soul. It felt the power it once had leave its body. And because of that, one of its horns completely evaporated into nothing. It also shrunk in size and the extra arms it had also disintegrated into dust. Shock and terror were the only things the demon could felt in that moment. It opened its mouth trying to speak, but no words could escape its lips.
The girl spread out her wings to their full length. Her entire image releasing malice that could only be described as death itself. A vulture flying over its prey knowing deaths hands are closing around it.
The flame marks covering her body all began to move to her right hand where a black flame sword took form. She then took a second step, tearing away even more of its soul. This time however, it wasn't enough to reduce the number of horns it had. But it still weakened the demon even more. With each step she took, fragments of the demons soul were ripped away. All it could do was watch as death came to claim what was rightfully hers. It shriveled back in fear as another horn dissolved out of existence, shrinking its body even further and making its appearance become more human like.
"w-wait...p-please...don't kill me...i-i...beg...you..."
But it was useless. Without missing a beat, she took the last step looming over the demon, tears still falling from her expressionless face. She then raised her arm, blade ready to strike down the demon. The demon saw for itself how the hard she gripping the sword and knew any persuasion was useless. It quickly brought its hands up, knowing the inevitable was coming. But for the girl, it was a sign for something else.
That her time was up.
In that moment, red liquid began to spurt out of the orifices in her face. She halted still just as the blade was falling. It then disappeared back into her body, the markings returning to their position. Her body convulsed and she fell backwards, hitting the ground of the cave hard. It was the sound of her crashing into the ground that made the demon look to see what had transpired. An expression of confusion crossed the demons face seeing the girl lying on the floor, blood pouring from her face. But it quickly snapped out of that trance and saw its chance to escape. Quickly getting to its knees, it began hastily crawling its way out of the cave.
"Stupid bitch. She took too much contra at once and her body couldn't handle it. I wish I could kill her now. But with how weak I am now, I wouldn't even be able to pierce her skin. Maybe that town will have enough people to for me to eat. I won't be anywhere near the strength I had before, but it will have to do for now."
After a couple minutes, it made its way out of the cave. It slowly stood up and it began to slowly walk to the town. But unfortunately for it, there was another dark presence made itself known. Sweat began to pour from the demons face as it felt carnal desire creep up its body.
"I believe our emperor gave us strict orders not to interfere with the business of man follower of Gula," an elegant alluring voice said.
The demon froze in its place immediately. Almost as if on instinct, its back straightened and it stood as a soldier would when commanded.
"My lady. W-what are you doing here?"
The demon could hear the sound of grass parting each time the demoness shifted itself forward coming from behind slowly making its way towards the front. With each second, its breath hitched and knees weakened. As the body of the individual came into view, it could feel itself losing control of its body. Taking in the dark form and its seven enthralling horns sprouting from its head. Five on its head starting from where the hairline would be and growing backward them curving up and 2 growing from behind its ear curving forward. The demons mind turned to mud and all its senses overwhelmed with pleasure as a smell infiltrated its nose. Try as it might to resist, its breath labored and heart pounding it even tried to reach out to the figure.
The figure let out a small chuckle.
"'What am I doing here?' Isn't obvious darling," saying the last part while gently grabbing the demons hands, "Your little squabble was practically calling out all demons within a twenty kilometer radius. Even a human would be able to sense that much malice. You must've really been pushed to the brink, poor thing."
She then took her other hand and caressed the demons face making it whimper.
"R-really. Wo-wouldn't they have sent my lord instead."
"Indeed. But our sovereign has ordered me to come. And I just couldn't say no to save a precious demon like you."
The figure inched its face closer to the demon's face making it almost completely fall to its knees.
"So please, let me relieve you," the demoness whispered gently.
The demoness then met the demons lips with its own and the demon was temporarily overcome with pleasure. If only it had lasted a bit longer. The demons eyes suddenly widened as pain coursed through every portion of its body. It grabbed the arms of the figure trying to push it off. Its body quickly wrinkled up and any semblance of life disappeared. The figure parted with the demons lips and dropped the corpse to the ground. It then licked its now bloody lips and with a long, slimy tongue.
"For someone so weak, you don't taste bad."
It then turned towards the cave with an enticing gaze.
"It won't hurt to take a peek."
It then made its way into the cave and walked towards the unconscious girl. It took a moment to take in the girls form with examining eyes and soon gave a small smile.
"I must say, I was unsure at first. But now I see why she wants you alive. You might even be stronger than me if you manage to master your full power unsealed. That hurts my pride a bit," it pouted.
Its expression shifted to an unexpectedly compassionate one.
"Only a child and you already have the burden of the world on your shoulders. But you needn't worry darling. Someone is coming to save you. So please, persevere as much as you can. Become someone worthy of standing beside us. And I assure you, your savior is coming."
With that, it turned and silently walked away.
