Inevitably, Nichole had to let her penthouse unit number be known by Nathan. Yes, even though Nathan had no business visiting Nichole in the future, Nichole really didn't like it when the privacy of her home was known by others.
When she arrived in front of the unit, Nichole accidentally kicked a box.
"Did he get the wrong address? I asked him to deliver to another address, not here." Nichole thought it was her order delivered by the drugstore owner earlier.
"Don't you touch it!" Nathan kicked the box away. "You don't know what's in it."
"Why are you more paranoid than I am?" Nichole was about to pick up the box but Nathan grabbed it first.
Nathan pulled a knife out of his coat and ripped the box open.
"Oh God!"
Nathan's guess was right. The box was dangerous. It contained a barbie doll covered in red dye and a threatening letter.
Nichole didn't dare to look at it for too long because she didn't want it to affect her thoughts on playing action movies.
"If you don't feel that you are ordering something, then you should make sure that the package is harmless. Next time, don't be so careless as to touch it directly." Nathan put the box away.
Nichole became worried that the penthouse wasn't safe. Someone even knew the unit number. Now Nichole really didn't know where to go to feel safe. There was no way she could go to her parents' house.
But Nichole was very curious about how the box arrived at her unit. So she went to the security room to look at the CCTV. Nathan was still faithfully following her.
The CCTV showed that it was one of the security guards who delivered the box to Nichole's unit.
"Are they not equipped with the knowledge to be cautious? How can they carry things without confirmation from the recipient?" asked Nathan angrily.
"We apologize Sir, this was our negligence. In the future, we will make sure this doesn't happen again," said one of the security.
This was the first time Nichole had received an item without her consent. It also made her even more determined not to enter her unit tonight.
Finally, Nichole reluctantly left the security room. She headed back to her car.
"Why am I the only one getting threats? It's not fair, you were involved but you didn't even get any hate speech," Nichole said irritably.
"I don't know," Nathan said. "That's why I didn't want to go on air. But you forced me to."
"I just suggested something that might help me," Nichole replied. "I'll just stay at the hotel. I don't dare go back to my unit."
"It's even more dangerous if you're in a hotel."
"Then where should I sleep? I need rest and there's no way I'm sleeping in the car."
"Go back to the company. There's a room for actresses to rest in, right? At least it's safer there," Nathan suggested.
Nichole felt like throwing her high heels at Nathan. How could Nichole sleep in a room located on one quiet floor by herself? Was Nathan kidding?
"I don't want to be there."
"Are you scared?"
"You're on your own." Nichole was about to get into the car but was stopped by Nathan.
"Let me drive. You can use my room to rest. I'll sleep in the meeting room."
Nichole looked Nathan up and down. She saw that there might be something suspicious that Nathan was planning.
Honestly, Nichole was a little suspicious of Nathan's kindness. Yesterday he acted indifferent to his actress's problems, now he was suddenly the most responsible person for everything that happened.
"That's a better option than you having to sleep somewhere else."
Nichole took a deep breath. "Okay, I'll sleep in the company."
May this be the first and last time, Nichole thought.
In such a big company, where the employees were no longer in the office and only the security were present, it was quite scary.
However, Nichole also felt that she had to watch out for Nathan. That's why she had an electric shock tool in her coat.
Along the way, Nichole chatted with Miley via text message. She told Miley everything because Nichole didn't have a best friend. More precisely, Nichole didn't want to have a best friend.
After a fifteen-minute ride, they finally arrived at the company.
The security at the front of the company was surprised to see Nathan arrive. The problem was that Nathan arrived when all the employees had gone home and it was late at night. Of course everyone panicked because they thought something bad had happened. Moreover, he came to the company not using his own car, but the car of one of the actresses.
"Please open access to my room," Nathan ordered.
They left the car in front of the lobby.
Nichole walked with her head down because she was embarrassed and afraid that the rumors would spread again and harm her.
"You don't have to worry. Those who work in this company's security will not spread rumors," Nathan said.
Only then did Nichole dare to hold her head up again. She followed Nathan to the lift that was directly connected to the CEO's office.
"If there's anything you need, we're always here to help, Sir," said the security.
"Just make sure to wake me up before my secretary arrives. That's all."
After the security guard left, Nichole slapped her bag at Nathan. "Why are you talking like that? It's like you're sleeping with me here."
"You're overreacting. I had to say that so my secretary wouldn't see us here in the morning. You know what I mean."
Even so, Nichole still felt embarrassed that the security guard had interpreted Nathan's words to mean something else.
But since Nichole was tired, she chose to quickly enter Nathan's resting room at the back of his workspace.
This room was as large as Nichole's room in the penthouse. Still, the decorations were all black and white. The scent of wood wafted through the room as Nichole entered. It was more than enough space to sleep until the next day.
There was a small fridge filled with instant food. Nichole just found out that Nathan also kept this kind of thing.
Suddenly the door opened.
"Lend me a pillow," Nathan pleaded.
