Chapter 13 - Protector

Amidst the chaotic battleground, Aaron's powers continued to astonish both Margaret and Emily. As zombies and mutated beasts closed in on their position, he focused his mind and extended his control over the surrounding matter and energy, with a newfound purpose.

With a swift gesture of his hand, Aaron manipulated the nearby cars parked along the street. These once-immobile vehicles came to life at his command, their tires screeching as they turned into deadly projectiles. With astonishing accuracy, he guided them through the air like guided missiles, each car smashing into a group of approaching zombies or beasts, creating a spectacle of destruction and chaos.

But Aaron's powers didn't stop there. He turned his attention to the buildings around them, tapping into the very structure of the School itself. With an outstretched hand, he caused the pavement to upheave, creating a barrier of jagged rocks that impeded the advance of the mutated creatures.

Emily watched in awe as Aaron's abilities reshaped the battlefield. He transformed a nearby lamppost into a whip of crackling electricity, lashing out at a particularly large mutated beast and electrocuting it with a blinding display of power. The creature let out a deafening roar before collapsing to the ground, twitching and convulsing.

Margaret marveled at the sheer ingenuity of Aaron's powers. He summoned a swirling vortex of wind and debris, creating a miniature tornado that lifted several zombies off their feet and sent them spiraling into the air before crashing to the ground. It was as if he had harnessed the very elements to wage war against the encroaching darkness.

With every display of his incredible abilities, Aaron's determination grew stronger. He was not just a survivor; he was a protector, a force of nature, and a beacon of hope in this desolate world. Margaret and Emily couldn't help but look at him with a mixture of admiration and wonder, knowing that they were in the presence of someone truly extraordinary.

As the battle raged on, the three of them progressed, Aaron using his powers to reshape the environment and turn the tide of battle. With each passing moment, the young man named Aaron demonstrated the limitless potential of his abilities, transforming cars and buildings into weapons of awe-inspiring destruction, all in the name of protecting those he cared for in this nightmarish world.

They were both too scared to fly and it would have caused him too much Mana to continuously hold them in the air so they chose to walk. Eventually they managed to reach the base, All exhausted but at least now they could rest albeit for only less than a day.

In the heart of the post-apocalyptic School, Aaron had managed to construct a formidable safe shelter. It was not the futuristic fortress that might have been imagined, but rather a practical and efficient structure born of haste and necessity. The shelter was a vast, dome-shaped complex with four towering skyscrapers integrated into its design. These skyscrapers which were previously hostel buildings served as residential quarters, and their solid construction contributed to the shelter's stability.

Inside the shelter, the scene was one of organized chaos. People went about their daily routines, their faces etched with a mixture of fear and weariness. The central makeshift plaza, though not bustling with the vibrancy of normal life, hummed with activity. Scavenged goods were exchanged at makeshift stalls, and there was a sense of community among the survivors.

A communal dining area offered simple meals, and residents queued patiently, their conversations filled with tales of survival and strategies for navigating the perilous world beyond the shelter's walls. The shelter's interior lighting, powered by a combination of generators and salvaged solar panels, provided a functional illumination that transitioned from day to night, providing a sense of rhythm to life within.

Margaret and Emily found themselves amidst the survivors, each day a testament to their resilience and the hope for a better future. Aaron, the man who had built this sanctuary, was seen as a leader and protector, his abilities essential to maintaining the shelter's defenses.

The group of survivors formed an impromptu militia, recognizing the need for protection against the dangers lurking beyond the shelter. They were led by a striking young woman named Favour. With her commanding presence and sharp strategic mind born out of her maturity and elite super force skill she had quickly gained the respect of the growing army. Though her beauty was undeniable, it was her strength and determination that truly made her stand out.

Favour's army needed practice and training, and with her unique abilities she became an invaluable mentor. Together, They practiced defensive maneuvers and honed their combat skills, preparing for the day when they would need to defend the shelter from external threats which according to the Awakener was apparently a day ahead. The other girls had accomplished their duties perfectly without losing a person and escorted the people back into the shelter and they merged the people together leaving no one out, if you didn't want to train you were a liability and everyone despised liabilities, 53 people were already sick of being ordered around and left the shelter angrily but no one stopped them. Perhaps they might find a way in this cruel world and perhaps they might die, it didn't matter to anyone here though.

In this practical and hard-won safe shelter, life continued in the face of adversity. Aaron's leadership and the women's dedication to protecting the survivors were beacons of hope in a world forever altered by the apocalypse.

Aaron however was having his bath in a secluded corner of a building separated from the other rooms, it was previously what the hostel supervisors used and while it wasn't luxurious, it was definitely better than the student's accommodations.

He dried his hair and laid on his bed exhausted as he looked at the timer in his head

He massaged his temples in frustration thinking about how to save everyone until he heard the door click open. Chloe walked in with a smile but he could see the worry in her eyes.
