When Scott's breathing changed, Rowan already realized the man was waking up. Then again, with what they were doing, he couldn't just suddenly stop and walk away. There was no choice but to continue, especially when he didn't want someone to say Scott died because he was incompetent. Enemy or not, Rowan didn't want anyone looking down on him or the person who taught him.
Even if Rowan's eyes were not on Scott, he saw how the man's eye opened in his peripheral vision. However, Scott even looked at Duke, so Rowan covered Scott's eyes with the back of his hand. "Go back to sleep. I'm not going to work extra hard just because you started moving. You have so many broken ribs puncturing your organs. Go back to sleep."
"Rowan…" Scott murmured, but the darkness knocked him out again. "I'm sorry…"
