Blob, blob. The bubbles on the soup kept rising as it was being reduced on the side. The kids were stuck watching Rowan prepare the lobster by breaking off the pieces of its body. He was cutting through the shell and pulling the meat up, leaving the base connected.
Parker would watch it intently, but she noticed how the lobsters were still alive when Rowan plunged them into the boiling water earlier. She then asked with a hand on the edge of his shirt, "Rowan, don't they get hurt with what you're doing? Shouldn't we wait for them to stop moving first?"
"Sorry, Parker. We have to do this while they're still moving." Rowan couldn't say much to the child. Would she hate the food Avery liked the most now that they watched how it was prepared?
