The children only waited for him to step out of the convenience store. The clerk willingly gave them extra pieces of meat. When he came out, he led them to a side and watched them get their fill. He also saw how the little girl loved every second of hugging the half-bear. He wondered if Avery and Parker would ever smile like that again.
Along with the meals came a few more food they could eat for the rest of the day.
