Inevitably, the dreaming man reacted to the kiss. Duke only pulled on his lips to a bitter smile. Whether Rowan saw Scott or him, only that person's brain could tell. He just moved away to attend to his morning tasks in their unit. Before he could lay his last glance at Rowan for the morning, the other person rolled to his side and hugged the thick blanket next to him.
Words were mumbled against it, and Duke only shook his head. Rowan had never dreamed so vividly and wildly like this. It didn't matter. At least Rowan was not actively seeking the other guy in his waking hours—only in his sleep.
"Why do you feel so soft, Duke? And thin…?"
Duke was almost through the door when he heard it. He looked at the frowning dreaming guy, watching as Rowan hugged the blanket as if it was him. At this, Duke only stared and stood where he was… before walking inside and closing the door.
