The two children watched Duke and Rowan deal with the body, carefully swaddling it for an easier pick-up. Then Duke walked up to the door and fiddled with a few things on the wall next to it. With a few pulls, the strange wall folded out of the way. In a few seconds, the regular-sized entryway to the kitchen had become wide enough to get the gurney out without a problem.
With Rowan's reminder for them not to move from their spot, the two kids only stayed next to each other. Their eyes were on the widened doorway… until the oven dinged. After what they witnessed, Parker wondered if the lobster would still be as delicious.
"…it won't get overcooked, right?" Avery spoke, eyeing the oven. He wanted to check the cooked food through the window, but they were warned not to move.
"…even if it did, don't put ketchup on it, okay?"
